i can;t find another thread dedicated for shock absorbers (some call strut, damper) only, so i was wondering is anyone has fitted an alternative set of absorbers (non-coilover type) to match their stock or after market springs. like improve absorbers, TRD absorbers, KYB absorbers, APM Performax, APM R-Tech, GAB, etc...and care to review it?
my car has gone past the 40000km mark as is time to start considering a replacement. no way in hell am i gonna put back the original perodua absorbers unless they have uprated the damping... -------------------- looking for Volvo S40? V50T5? S60? S80? XC90? PM me...

So far, in my limited experience, Improve Propex Lowered Absorbers are pretty good.
Of course the TRD Sportivo ones are good too but softer. Both sit pretty well when paired with Eibach springs.... BTW, do look at the WTS threads as I am selling the Improve Propex absorbers. PM me if you are interested. |

I'm also interested in the TRD Sportivo. That price 1.5K, I presume does not include the spring. Where did you survey it? If it's soft, then maybe it would be comfortable driving apart from achieving stability.
I'm wondering how is Speedworks Hot Bits Monotubes performed. Heard that they have this machine that calculate it to install properly and can find the softest spring to pair with it so it won't be a hard ride. Hmm... I don't have much exposure about it as well. my rear set absorber has change to a malaysian brand (i think) call "HITS" is a gas type absorber, better then the original abs, cheaper then the original, per pair is only RM240+ include installation. the look are same as the GAB brand abs, diameter are larger then original. before i change my abs, when the car fully loaded, my tyre hit fender, but after change the tyre hit fender prob. solved. now the abs are serving me over 35k of mileage it become soft now. so i m still looking for other OEM absorber for myvi.
